Painting as Dreaming Awake: The Sacred Role of Eye Movement
Most people know of REM sleep—rapid eye movement—as the time when we dream and process deep layers of our inner world. What few realize is that this same mechanism can also appear in waking life, especially during creative flow.
When I paint, my eyes move rapidly as my hand lays down color with watercolor pencil. This movement is not just functional—it is transformational. It creates a bridge much like REM in dreaming: a bridge between the conscious mind and the deeper realms of soul, archetype, and higher guidance.
In this state, my eyes become more than physical organs of sight. They act as receivers and transmitters of subtle wisdom, aligning hand, heart, and spirit into one flowing current. Each dart and sweep of my gaze carries me deeper into a dialogue with the unseen. What arises on the page is not planned but channeled—a translation of soul-language into color and form.
This is why my art carries a dreamlike, visionary quality. It is not only painting, it is dreaming awake with eyes open. The paper becomes the dreamscape, and the pigments become the symbols that carry meaning and sacred codes across the veil.
Through this practice, I have learned that eye movement can be a spiritual tool, a sacred technology of seeing. Just as shamans use drumming to shift awareness, I use the motion of my eyes and hand to enter a light trance, where I hear directions about what to draw and what colors to use.
My process unfolds in three sacred stages. First comes the pencil, where inspiration whispers and the vision reveals its outline. Then I move to ink, which commits the image into form. Finally, I bring in color, breathing soul and frequency into the work until it comes alive as a transmission.
Each painting is therefore not only art but an oracular journey—from inspiration, to incarnation, to illumination. What results is a visible map of higher guidance, a dreamscape in form, carrying resonance and awakening for those who behold it.
This process is enhanced by my clairvoyance and claircognazance.
"We have before us the age of conscious creation and this new spirit in painting is going hand in hand with the spirit of thought towards an epoch of great spiritual healers."
